Are you fed up with the constant rise in electricity bills?
Do you need a fast and efficient way to heat your home? Well Infrared heating could be the answer…
What is infrared heating?
Whenever I mention infrared heating to customers they immediately think of outdoor heaters that glow red, similar to what you see outside pubs and restaurants. Well if I told you I could come and install some flat white panels to your ceiling, which could warm up a room in under 5 minutes and save you money on your heating bill, you would probably think I’m crazy. Now obviously there are various factors to consider which will determine how much you will actually save, such as how well your rooms are insulated, how often you use your heating etc.
There are 3 different types of infrared heaters, short wave, medium wave and long wave. Short wave offers very close and direct heat, Medium wave is what’s typically found outside (the type that glow red) and Long wave is what would be installed inside your home, such as the panels below.
How does infrared heating work?
So how does infrared heating actually work? Well in short, they heat objects not the air. This is why the best location for them is usually on the ceiling. Having well-spaced panels can actually heat a room very evenly and avoid cold spots which you might notice with standard radiators.
Most infrared heating systems are app controlled with a thermostat in each room. They can even be mixed with other forms of heating, for example... You may wish to install a heat pump for your hot water and underfloor heating downstairs. Infrared heaters could be the perfect solution to create an extremely efficient home.
